Composite decking prices vary immensely and, indeed, the most expensive composite deck is not necessarily the best quality, and the lowest price is not always the weakest product. Here at Sun Decking we keep our business structure simple and our manufacturing process efficient and our return on investment fair – all so we can deliver high-quality composite decking at the best value.
We are happy to discuss our composite prices with you because we know it will help you make the best decision possible when choosing your composite decking.
We have held our prices for over three years currently. Unfortunately inflation is very real and we must increase our prices as we go into October 2021. The prices on this page will be updated on the first week October, for orders after this our October 2021 price list is available on request.
As a guide the material price of composite decking boards supplied by us is approximately $84 per square metre for our CLASSIC™ range and $112 per square meter for our ELITE™ range plus $5/m2 for fixing clips, screws and $2.50 for protective joist shield.
You will need to add the cost of the deck framing structure and labour. Also consider additional requirements for picture framing and decorative patterns, edge boards, fascia boards and screening. Our CLASSIC™ range is price comparable to Merbau hardwood on the day of installation, and our ELITE™ range is price comparable within just 2 years of timber maintenance costs. Unlike timber decks, they do not require staining and sealing after installation.
Composite decking is absolutely worth the cost particularly if you are concerned about the use of chemicals, or time and money spent for ongoing maintenance. Composite decking requires no treatment at all and is warranted to resist termites, rot and warping. All you need to do is wash it clean a couple of times a year, so it stays looking as great as the day it was installed.
Our CLASSIC™ range is price comparable to Merbau hardwood on the day of installation, and our ELITE™ range is price comparable within just 2 years of timber maintenance costs. The extra benefits of more time enjoying your deck, using an environmentally sustainable product and no additional application of chemicals.
Here in Australia where the harsh sun and weather take their toll a timber deck requires maintenance to be pest and weatherproof and extend the deck’s life expectancy. For a deck service sanding back to raw and applying several coats of good quality oil you should expect to pay $30-$80 per square meter, depending on the provider and size/condition of the deck. Neglected decks attract extra costs to repair the effects of rotting, warping, cracks and splinters.
The cost for deck maintenance when you choose composite decking is little to nothing. It requires washing at least twice per year using soapy water and perhaps a soft brush for stubborn spots. This is to remove dirt and keep your deck looking great, and you can simplify the process further by using a gurney or high-pressure hose. Water ingress is impossible with our composite decking.
In comparison a timber deck requires ongoing costs for maintenance to keep it protected and looking good. There are costs to re-apply treatments which protect it from water ingress which in turn causes rotting, warping and mould.
