$16.00 per 2900mm length, $5.50 per lineal meter.
Sun Decking supply composite battens that are perfect for low height installations over concrete and tiling.
Installing over existing concrete or tiles needs some consideration in terms of the best joists to use for the job.
Your joists will be connected to a hard surface in this situation and whatever you install will have a high potential to remain damp for long periods, particularly in uncovered and pool environments. This is not to say composite joists are the only choice, aluminium, steel and timber are still options to create joists for your decking.
We do believe that composite joists do provide a lot of advantages. The primary being that they will not rot or corrode, even after months of continuous immersion in water. Other options for decking joists are emminently doable and still require some planning to avoid rot or corrosion, usually requiring sealing on the ground connection and with a timber requiring an additional Joist Shield on the top edge. Composite joists is the option that involves no more cost beyond the joist and fixings.
As well as being very durable they are also very cost effective as an option.

Frequently asked questions
What are decking joists?
Decking joists are the subframe that supports the decking, usually constructed in harwood, treated timber, treated LVL, steel box or steel C section, Our decking can be installed on any combination of joists, and each needs some consideration in terms of set out, preparation and fixing options. Given the decking will last at least fifteen years the major planning for joist and subframe is to ensure it lasts just as long. Our joist Shield is effective in ensuring this on timber joist installations.
How far should joists be apart on a deck?
Sun Decking products are designed and specified to be installed on a maximum of 450mm joist centers in domestic use. If you are using your decking for heavy traffic it may be worth considering making this less, if you are using in commercial installations it will need to be 350mm.
